Sometimes I think the only person who is happy that Public television is financially challenged, other that certain legislators who believe that it is too liberal and the culmination of all that is evil, is Andre Rieu. Now don’t get me wrong, this happy Dutch musician who models himself after Johan Straus is not a cruel or vindictive person. At least from what I can tell he’s not, but let’s face it. If PBS did not have financial woes, Andre Rieu, one of its favorite stars, would not have received the exposure he has, and his sales in the United States would probably be next to nothing. Of course for anyone who has ever seen one of his extravaganzas, we would be missing something enjoyable. He’s musically sound and he knows how to entertain, and quiet frankly, though some classical purists may cringe at his name, I don’t believe the composers whose music he uses are rolling in their graves because it’s become popular once again. Of all his concerts and CDs, I enjoy THE CHRISTMAS I LOVE the most. The jitterbug version of “Jingle Bells” shows that an old tune can produce new tricks. His arrangement of “The Holy City” (a.k.a. “Jerusalem”) is almost as moving as when it is performed with a vocalist. The recording has a number of medleys that include favorites from all over Europe show how Christmas has such an international flair. For me, however, this album provides true variety. Many of the carols are not familiar to Americans, so we hear something different yet also authentic to the holiday season. I’m surprised that there have not been other Rieu Christmas discs. He’s an original musician and a consummate showman, so I’m sure there’s more he could do with holiday music, but maybe he knows he has a classic with this collection and it will stand the test of time. viagra nexium

Agree with Dave about the comparison between Roland and Behringer. I own heaps of Roland/Boss stuff and it always works. I have had a GT-5 pedal for years which has been thrown around, stomped on, dropped, spilled beer on and hauled in and out of gigs in all sorts of weather and temperature conditions – always works. I have also owned lots of Behringer stuff but always end up dumping it or giving it away – something always breaks after a short while.Although some of the Behringer stuff may sound OK, a lot of it tend to break down just by looking at it. Apart from a few effects/rack units, ask yourself how much Behringer stuff you see used live… Why? The build quality is … well, basically non-existent.If you intend to use all of this gear through a keyboard amp, then you will probably (or likely, rather) find that an electric guitar through a keyboard amp is not the best thing there is. A keyboard amp is more full range (like a PA system), while an electric guitar amp is much more focused in the mid range frequencies. Acoustic guitars on the other hand is very much at home with a keyboard amp.The drum machine and Moog will work great through a keyboard amp, but not the guitar through the Boss. The only way to find out if you can live with the compromise is to try the amps out using your own gear I’m afraid. And in case you wonder – a guitar amp will not sound good if you put the drum machine through it. The Moog? Maybe. nexium zoloft propecia zyban celebrex acyclovir and vioxx
