Today is World Maritime Day

Every year IMO celebrates World Maritime Day. The day is used to focus attention on the importance of shipping safety, maritime security and the marine environment and to emphasize a particular aspect of IMO's work. At the Organization’s Headquarters, the Day will be celebrated on Thursday, 29 September 2011. This year the day focuses on Piracy: Orchestrating the Response.
